At Avoca Hockey Club, we have several clinics and events running throughout the year. You can find out all you need to know here, including how to sign up.

Skills Clinics throughout 2026

Who: All players (outfield and goalkeepers)

What: 1:1 private and 1:2 partner skills clinics – led by our senior coaches, these sessions focus on elite ball control, power shooting, and the mental toughness needed to own the pitch.

When: Wednesdays and Fridays from 6-7pm.

Where: Newpark Comprehensive School:

Cost: 1:1 is €45/hour and 1:1 is €65/hour.

Avoca Easter Skills Clinic 2026

Who: 1st to 4th Year Girls and Boys (all abilities)

What: Give your game the perfect boost this Easter! One inclusive programme, 4 days of high-energy growth, with Head Coach Chris Stewart and other Senior Coaches.

Small ratios of one coach to 8-10 players.
Focusing on elite technical and tactical development.
Technical Foundations: Precision passing & 1v1 elimination.
Defensive Techniques: Tackling, positioning & interceptions.
Attacking Dynamics: Goal scoring & overload scenarios.
Match Play Intelligence: Game management & spatial awareness.

When: Tuesday April 7th to Friday April 10th (4 days).

Give Hockey a Go 2026

Who: All over-30 adults who want to try hockey for the first time or get back into hockey.

What: Introductory sessions with one of our top Coaches, designed to introduce people to the sport we love.

When: Friday evenings at 6:30-7:15pm on April 10th, 17th and 24th (followed by Mixed Social Hockey for those who want to join in).

Where: Sion Hill

How:

Cost: Free for three sessions, then welcome to sign up to Summer Hockey.

Junior Season Extension 2026

Who: All junior players – U6 Boys/Senior Infants Girls through to U14 Boys/2nd Class Girls.

What: Game On! Starting right after the break, we’re back for 6 weeks of fast, fun, match-focused hockey. Lots of ball time and small-sided games!

When: Sundays from April 12th to May 24th.

Summer Hockey 2026‍ ‍

Who: All players welcome (strictly over 16s) and all sessions are mixed.

What: Full range of hockey, from Walking Hockey (O35’s), Summer Hockey (O16’s), Vets Hockey (O35’s), and Mixed Social (O30’s), over 5 nights a week.

When: Monday April 20th through Friday July 31st.

Monday 8:30-10pm – Walking Hockey (O35’s)
Tuesday 7-8:30pm – Summer Hockey (O16’s)
Wednesday 7-8:30pm – Vets Hockey (O35’s)
Thursday 7-8:30pm – Summer Hockey (O16’s)
Friday 7-8:30pm – Social Hockey (O30’s)

Where: Newpark Comprehensive School, followed by BBQ in The Wishing Well

Avoca Ball 2026‍ ‍

Who: All adult members (O18’s)

What: Get ready to celebrate an incredible season with us! With exciting surprises, live music, and the anticipation of our award winners being announced! This is an event you won't want to miss! Black Tie and Formal Attire.
